If we were stranded on a desert island and had only one reel to bring it would be a Hatch Finatic reel.
Machined to increase rigidity, strength and good looks, this reel is simply the Cadillac of fishing reels. A one piece frame with a machined reel seat means that by eliminating the screws you’ve eliminated the corrosion points. All Hatch reels are Type 2 anodized with a completely sealed and waterproof drag cassette that employs a multi-disc stack comprised of Rulon and laser cut stainless steel discs that requires no lubrication, which means maintenance free.
